With all the theories of why millennials are ruining the economy, stay focused on you. Don’t let the news, society, or some theory tell you how to live your life.
As a millennial, I’ve seen first hand, like a lot of you how our parents and family members struggled through the last recession. We’re deciding to not play victims to the game of the economy and save money as a backup plan.
We know the reality of student loans, high cost of living and how a lack of savings can affect our lives. We’ve learned the hard money lessons our past generations struggled through.
I personally, rather have money saved, invested, and spent on purposeful things and experience that I value. I’m a big advocate for minimalism and financial literacy. These are two things that crumble the US consumerism economy.
Well hey, times are changing and I rather see people striving with purpose than materialistic things.
But what do you think? Is the economy struggling because of millennials saving? Or could it actually be a mixture of our financial and personal preferences that are changing?
